The High Desert Back Country Horsemen club is located in the Magic Valley which encompasses Twin Falls, Idaho and surrounding areas.  Our meetings are the second Tuesday of every month.  We work with the Forest Service, BLM, Park Service and Fish and Game to help manage and maintain the trail systems and campgrounds in our area.

We are a family organization and, in addition to our work projects, we have fun rides, overnight campouts and various other events.

It is not necessary to own a horse to belong to the club.  We have many activities that need interested people who are willing to help with organization and planning.

Philosophy

Back Country Horsemen is a service organization working in the back country and educating users of the back country.  These two elements, along with a determination to protect the heritage of back country stock use, are primary factors of our existence.

Our name was chosen because it signified an interest in much more than just wilderness.  Members are interested in perpetuating recreational stock use on virtually all public lands.

If you share the goals and interests of our organization, we invite you to become a member of an existing chapter or help form a chapter in your community.

Purposes

TO PERPETUATE the common use and enjoyment of horses in America's back country and wilderness areas.

TO WORK to insure that that public lands remain open to recreational stock use.

TO ASSIST the various government, state, and private agencies in their maintenance and management of said resource.

TO EDUCATE, encourage and solicit active participation in the use of the back country resource by stock users and the general public commensurate with our heritage.

TO FOSTER and encourage the formation of new state organizations and BCHA
